Bee Pollen: Nature’s Perfect Super Food

-Louis Hart

It’s even been suggested by some doctors and nutritionists that 35 grams of bee pollen daily contains ALL the nutrients needed to sustain the human body.

More than 96 different nutrients to be exact, a combination of 22 different amino acids and it’s made up of over 40% protein.

Clinical studies done on mice that have been fed a diet consisting exclusively of bee pollen have shown us that it contains everything needed to sustain healthy life.

Overall, it’s one of the most nutritionally complete natural substances found on planet earth.

So it’s no wonder that health practitioners around the world refer to bee pollen as the nutraceutical fountain of youth.

It’s quite possibly Mother Nature’s most perfect food – and the best part is you can add bee pollen to your daily nutritional regimen for just pennies a day.

So What is Bee Pollen?

It’s the small dust sized seeds found on the stamens of all known flower blossoms.

This pollen collects on the legs of honey bees as they fly from flower to flower looking for nectar to which the bees add nectar and a special enzyme to create what we know as bee pollen.

Cherish the Journey

-Doc Darville

I have to be honest – the training for my upcoming triathlon is totally kicking my butt!

Just when I think I have it all figured out the next thing I know my butt is dragging across the floor.

Yesterday was the first time I transitioned from the run to the swim and then kicked it up with hill sprints.

I really can’t remember the last time I’ve been that tired for that long. I almost slept right through my alarm and missed my shift!

And there’s been fun little surprises all along the way too. Like the other day when I got caught in a monsoon on my bike about 10 miles from home.

The farther I rode the harder it rained. But being the true champion that I am I kept on going.

Then it happened – I had to pass some road construction where rain water had pooled up and in some places even completely covered the road.

Picture this…

I’m on my bicycle, the entire road is covered in about four inches of water and two tractor trailers perfectly spaced pass me bye.

Yep you guessed it – I got drenched! And the force of the water damn near knocked me off my bike.

After it happened I thought about what it must have looked like and I broke out hysterically laughing right there on the side of the road.

Old guy on bike in rain storm doused by passing trucks and laughing so hard he can hardly ride his bike – I probably wasn’t the only one on the road that got a chuckle out of that!

But hey, it’s just one more memorable moment in my journey toward the finish line.

There’s a lot of hard work but there’s also plenty of funny moments and for me that’s what makes it all worth while.

It’s a journey I’m glad I’ve embarked on and I’m enjoying every moment – even on days like today where I’m too tired to even fall asleep.

Train Hard!

Doc
