4 Tips for Cutting Calories without
Counting Them…
-- Louis Hart
To be able to eat everything you want and never gain a pound might sound
like something you’d only hear on a late night infomercial. But take
it from me – it’s a reality.
All it takes is one or two minor modifications to your regular eating habits.
You can cut back on your caloric intake and still walk away from the dinner
table feeling full.
I don’t know about you – but I’m a growing boy (sort
of). And I don’t like walking away from the dinner table hungry.
So if you’re like me and you need to find a way to fill your belly
but with fewer calories – then these 4 tips can help get you on the
track to pain-free weight loss almost overnight…
1) Eat Like a Family
A big cause of obesity in this age of technology is eating amidst distractions
like the television and computer. It’s so easy to sit in front of
the boob tube and mindlessly chow down long after your body has had its
fill.
So when meal times comes around, you should make it a point to drop whatever
it is you’re doing, sit down at the dinner table and enjoy your food
and the company you share it with. In my opinion there’s nothing
like dinner together with the family!
If you live alone that’s still no excuse – break out the fine
china and a few sweet smelling candles. Sit down at the table with your
food and take your time indulging in one of life’s simple pleasures.
There’s no need to eat in front of the TV just because you live by
yourself.
And never eat until you feel like you’re going to burst. There’s
a giant difference between full and stuffed! And it will show on your waist
line.
2) Junk the Junk Food
I’m sure you’ve heard me say this before, but it’s worth
mentioning again. You’ll find it’s next to impossible to eat
a bag of potato chips for desert if you don’t keep them in the house.
It’s so much easier to exercise good judgment at the grocery store
than it is late at night when you’re fighting off a comfort food
craving.

You’ll Be Ready ANYTIME – ALL The Time!
* When she walks out of the shower dripping wet…
* When she wakes you up at 3 am…
* When she bends over to grab the laundry…
No matter what the circumstances are, no matter the time of day – or
night, no matter what – YOU’LL BE READY!

So in my opinion, the best way to avoid temptation is to completely remove
it from your life. Instead of chips and cookies stock your pantry with
healthy treats like nuts or cut up pieces of fruits and veggies.
They’re taste great and they’re good for you!
I like to have a bag of cashews or some kind of trail mix on hand at all
times - so I always have access to a healthy guilt free snack.
Basically, if you’re eating the right foods you can eat as much as
you want -- anytime you want!
3) It’s Not a Race
It takes up to 20 minutes for your brain to catch up to your stomach and
tell you you’re stuffed. So the simple act of slowing down your pace
a bit can have a tremendous effect on your caloric intake.
Another handy little trick is to make sure you’re chewing each bite
at least 15 times. It’ll not only help you slow down the pace a bit
but it also aids in digestion.
So take your time and enjoy each and every bite – feel free to talk
and laugh because food always tastes better over some delicious conversation.
But please, don’t talk with your mouth full!

4) Size Matters
If you change your dishware to something a bit smaller – you might
be surprised to find out you’re eating less and you didn’t
even know it.
So much of what we eat and how we eat is out of habit. Something as simple
as using a smaller plate or serving utensil is an excellent way to cut
back on portion size without even realizing you’re doing it.
It hard if not impossible to fill your plate up only half way – and
it just as difficult to leave half a plate of food behind and call it a
night. So try eating off smaller plates – it’ll help trick
your eyes and your stomach into thinking you’re eating just as much
as you normally would.
Try it out for yourself – you’ll see!
Eating everything you want and maintaining a slim waist line might sound
impossible. But take it from me – a few smart changes can make a
world of difference.
Besides even healthy changes can feel good – you don’t want
to ruin one of life’s simplest pleasures sitting in front of the
T.V. eating mindlessly until you have indigestion. It doesn’t do
you or your body a bit of good.
You should savor each and every bite and the company you’re blessed
to enjoy them with. I know I do!
And I’ll tell you what, tonight at dinner just before I rip into
that juicy T-bone I saw in the fridge this morning. I’m going to
raise my glass and make a toast to you, and 100 years of good health and
happiness - CHEERS!!
Stay Healthy!
