No More Excuses
-Louis Hart
Time…none of us feel like we have enough of it in our day. And 9
times out of 10 it’s our go to excuse for not getting something accomplished.
I can almost hear it now…I just didn’t have the time…there
just aren’t enough hours in the day…bla bla bla. But I have
to tell you from personal experience – I’ve come to realize
it’s all a bunch bull.
I mean really, sit back for a minute and add up in your head how many hours
you waste in a day watching T.V. or blabbing on the phone about nothing
and you’ll start to see what I’m getting at. And wait – what
are you doing right now?
That’s right, playing on the internet! So from now on when it’s
time for our daily workout our new motto is: NO MORE EXCUSES!
Exercise is the single best thing you can do to improve your overall health,
fitness, sex life and self image. And I think it’s time to make it
priority #1.
So just to make sure we never have to miss another workout because of a
lack of time again – I’ve thrown together a few simple tricks
I use to make sure I stay lean and mean even when my precious time is at
a premium:

Rising Estrogen Levels May be Turning You into a Woman!

1. A Home Gym
And you don’t need to spend a fortune on one of those fancy machines
with all the pulleys and cables – they’re a waste of money
and space. Personally I’m a huge proponent of natural body weight
exercises, calisthenics, stretching and different breathing techniques.
My little home gym consists of a soft mat, 10 lb. medicine ball, jump rope
and whole library of different exercise texts on everything from yoga to
the NAVY SEAL Workout. In total the whole set up cost me maybe $100. Cheap
and effective!
2. Watch American Idol Tomorrow
Trust me I know what it’s like to have a must see T.V. show in your
life. And I’m not suggesting you miss your favorite sitcom any more
than I’m willing to miss an episode of The Sopranos.
But at the same time it’s no excuse to miss a workout. So do what
I did and get a Tivo - I love mine! But if that’s too pricey for
you there’s always the trusty old VHS recorder – and a little
side benefit is you get to fast forward past all those annoying commercials.
3. Take a Guilt Trip
A great way to do that is to train with someone a little more motivated
than you are. Find someone you know that trains everyday or as close to
it as possible. And ask them if they’d like to team up. I’ve
never met anyone who doesn’t want a workout partner.
Plus after a few missed sessions they’ll let you know exactly what
they think of your workout habits. And hopefully help get you back on the
boat.
But if you can’t find anyone willing to berate you into going to
the gym daily - you could try signing up for a gym that’s on your
way home from work. It’ll be impossible to forget about your workout
and it’ll be very hard to drive by without that little voice in the
back of your head telling you how lazy you are.

4. Always be Prepared
Last but certainly not least I recommend always being prepared to workout.
If you find yourself at the park – strap your sneakers on and go
for a run. Or if you happen to be by the beach – throw on your shorts
on and take a quick swim.
I have a Jiu-Jitsu school in my area that I like to train at occasionally.
So I always make sure I have a clean gui (traditional martial arts uniform)
in the trunk of my car ready to go just in case I’m in the neighborhood.
Now of course were all going to miss a workout from time to time -- and
that’s fine. Especially around the holidays and vacation time. But
be careful! One missed workout turns into two-- and two turn into four.
And before you know it you’re busting out of your cloths, your sex
drive is gone and you don’t have the energy to even wake up in the
morning.
Keep in mind -- consistency is the key to any successful workout regimen.
And it’s that consistency that’s going to be the difference
between living the life of a cave man or girly man.
Stay Healthy!
